Genuine oak that has grown naturally for more than a hundred years is one of the clearest reflections of the value of time. Large trunks with diameters of around 70 centimeters have endured seasons, sunlight, and environmental forces that have compacted and strengthened the wood while producing a unique grain that cannot be replicated. Pronounced rays and deep, dimensional tones are defining traits of aged oak; the longer the wood has lived, the more its beauty and durability naturally increase.

When choosing wood for high‑quality furniture, oak stands out for both its structural performance and its aesthetic appeal. Its strength supports long‑term use, and its distinct grain makes it an ideal material for a table — a piece of furniture that sees daily, real use. Oak surfaces reveal their patterns fully, giving a warm, composed, and refined presence from every angle.

Crafting a table from genuine oak is not merely about machining wood; it requires deep understanding of each board’s structure. From selection and moisture‑reduction drying to shaping and trimming, every step demands precise tools and skilled hands to preserve the wood’s properties and maintain the continuity of the grain.

When century‑old oak is chosen as a single tabletop slab, the story of its annual rings and maturated texture is woven into one object. We select full‑trunk oak slabs approximately 70 cm wide and over 3 meters long — two slabs carefully bookmatched and joined. We study the grain to find join points that harmonize both form and tone, then plane, cut, sand, and meticulously repair imperfections to achieve a smooth surface, pronounced grain, and solid structural integrity.

In the finishing stages, the wood is finely sanded to bring out its natural patterns. The design of the table legs and other elements is considered to complement the main slab in proportion and balance, preserving the original charm of the natural wood as the centerpiece.

The final steps of staining and sealing require great care to protect the wood while revealing its original tones and grain as clearly as possible, whether the surface is finished matte or semi‑gloss. The aim is to retain the material’s natural character while enhancing long‑term durability.
